GOODBYE TO A FRIEND

How do you say goodbye to a friend?
To a friend upon which we could depend

We look back to when children sat and their feet did not reach the floor
They grew up physically and spiritually and we all learned so much more

We're sorry when we took you too much for granted
But we thank you for all the seeds you planted

It's a complement to you that we could rely on you
For your genuine friendliness opened our hearts and gave us a clearer view

We thank our Heavenly Father for using you
We take it as an example for God to use us too

So now that you're leaving, some things will be changed
But the main messages cannot be rearranged

God promises that His word will never be destroyed
Others need Jesus as Savior so more eternal lives can be enjoyed

So, for now, you must go your way and we must go our way
But we'll all keep the torch lit with the key words to say

So we're not really saying goodbye, just bye, for now
We'll see you later in Heaven, while shouting WOW!

How do you say goodbye to a friend?
By reminding us, this is just a new beginning, not the end

WHAT DID YOU DO?

I drifted to the deep water and didn't know how to swim
But suddenly, I called a lifeguard and I was safe with him

I drifted to the world and sure couldn't find any way out
But suddenly, I called for Jesus, who saved me without a doubt

We found another drifter who was confused and lost
But suddenly, we pointed him to Jesus who paid the cost

And they asked us, What did you do? What did you do?
To accomplish this escape from a dangerous stew

We explained it wasn't us, it was a gift from another
We didn't do anything but simply accept it like a brother

Someone else paid the price for our release
But it gave us the ultimate security and peace

God's salvation is a free gift from his loving grace
Read the Bible, to find it, it is the greatest place

For we can't do anything to earn our salvation
But we can praise God for it, with celebration

God's salvation plan is the beauty from above
And we can tell others not by duty but by love

What did you do? What did you do? What did you do?
Just allowed Him to work through me and you

SECURITY

You can only go so far with money and spending
God can take you to a life that is never ending

Money provides some security that is only temporary
God provides security that is eternal and extraordinary

So beware of some of those sales pitches
They could lead you somewhere in the ditches

Someone may promise to lessen your debt
Then their hidden charge will get you upset

You'll hear you can get rich with no effort
Then find it is a pyramid scheme that can hurt

You hear how a product will help you lose weight fast
And find you really lose money, that does not last

You hear claims for looking younger or amazing a friend
And does it really make a difference or matter in the end?

If you buy too many things at a mall
Do you really have time for them all?

Why not focus on just a little less
And give away some more to the rest

Money is needed but it should not be the main goal
For the key profit is asking God to save your own soul

LIVIN' FORGIVEN

We can't do enough
To deserve God's love

For a surviving lift
Accept His forgiveness gift

We're not livin' deservin'
We're just livin' forgiven

We're livin', livin' forever
We're livin', livin' forgiven

We can try and get by
But without Him we can't win

Our best strengths will still slip
Unless we are guided by His divine grip

Livin' on our own will see defeat
Livin' under His throne makes us complete

We're not livin' deservin'
We're just livin' forgiven

We're livin', livin' forever
We're livin', livin' forgiven

LOOK BACK

There is a lot to see
When I look behind me

So many blessings, so much accomplished
Some things beyond what I could have wished

Some looked like coincidence of timing
But was really His plans unwinding

There is less to see
When I look ahead of me

All the uncertainty
Can get the best of me

So how can I look forward to what's ahead?
By listening to His words, by faith, and be led

When I just look back
The future is not as black

Blessings were there before
So be ready for more

I can't dwell on what goes wrong and be hateful
I need to dwell on what goes right and be grateful

Scripture tells me where best thoughts have stood
Think of what is honest, just, pure, lovely, and good

I'll think on those things
And peace is upon my heart strings

Even if the worst should happen to me
I have eternal life as a guarantee

So I'll look back on what's good and avoid a pity party
I'll let God guide the future with a positive party
